Staff Appreciation Week

Yahoo! Staff Appreciation Week is coming, February 26 – March 2! This is the week CCES chooses to honor our exemplary teachers and staff for all they do to educate our children and support our Copper Canyon community.   When thinking of how your family would like to honor your teachers, please keep in mind the additional staff who make your child/ren’s day memorable. On each themed day (see below links), remember we just want our teachers and staff to feel loved and appreciated. This week is not intended to pressure anyone to give…simple cards and kind words often speak volumes! All activities are individual acknowledgements from families; Room Parents will not be coordinating classroom gifts.

There’s still time to join the fun and decorate a teacher’s Bulletin Board. Sign up now  Grab a friend and have fun!

Thank you for all you do to help build our community and make this a great school!

Prayers and Support for a CCES Student

Hello Copper Canyon Families,
As some of you may already know, Bridget Korn, a 1st grader in Mrs. De Nitto and Mrs. Ross’s class, was diagnosed last Friday with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Her last day of school was Monday so that she can begin receiving chemotherapy treatments.
Bridget’s family and friends have created a number of ways in which to help her and her family through this challenging time. The first is a Go Fund Me site where you can donate money directly.
There is also a meal train sign up if you’d like to bring food to the family.
We have created an e-mail address specifically for accepting e-gift cards to Grub Hub, Uber Eats, and other meal delivery services. Since their family will be split on both coasts on and off during Bridget’s treatments, these gift cards can help with breakfasts and lunches that are not covered by the meal train. It is not monitored by the family, so any personal questions or well wishes will not be answered.
Finally, there is a Caring Bridge page where updates can be found as well as links to the sites mentioned above and more.
Please keep Bridget and the entire Korn family in your thoughts and prayers. We wish her a speedy recovery and a safe return to Copper Canyon. If you are able to help in any of the ways mentioned above, we thank you on behalf of the Korn family. Any questions can be directed to your PTO liaison and we will do our best to find an answer for you.
Kind regards,
Friends of Bridget and the Korn family
